Graduate in Law, Universidad Central de las Villas (Santa Clara, Cuba, 1993), Degree recognised by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Postgraduate Degree in Real Estate Law and Land Use and Planning, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (1995). PhD courses in Public Law, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (1994-1996). In 1997 he presented a dissertation on the land use regime in Cuba (“El régimen jurídico del suelo en Cuba”).
During 1993-1994 he worked as a lawyer in Cuba and was an associate professor at the Law Department of the Universidad Central de Las Villas (Santa Clara, Cuba).
In September 1994 he was granted a scholarship by the Instituto de Cooperacion Iberoamericana in order to carry out the PhD courses held at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
In 1997 he joined Pareja & Associats, Advocats. Jorge Herrera has combined his professional practice as a lawyer with academic tasks, teaching in several courses on Land Use and Planning Law.
